ISPM15

Did you know that timber is the number one material used for shipping world wide?

With all of the wood that moves around the world, ISPM15 (The International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures, publication 15) is an internationally approved upon standard that is enforced to prevent the spread of plant pests and diseases by using specially treated wood.

This is your pallet’s passport to make sure that the wood is not spreading things like the pinewood nematode or the asian longhorn beetle which are threats to forestry worldwide.¬†When treated the wood will bear a special marking that tells you the country of origin, the packing manufacturer and what the wood has been treated with, so you can tell who treated it and what with.
